Paula’s burnout story
When we stop treating ourselves with the same love and devotion, we would someone we deeply love, we find ourselves disconnected and lost out in the sea of burnout.
Paula came to me feeling numb. As an executive, wife, and mother to a nine-year-old daughter, she was in desperate need of work-life balance. “It’s like someone hit my internal “OFF” switch and I don’t know how to turn it back ON,” she said. Often when we think of burnout as being tied to the workplace. Yet it exists beyond the nine to five. Whether you’re a high-functioning executive like Paula, or a primary caregiver of children, elder parents, or both, burnout is real. Paula found herself again - feeling her way back through laughter, community - and self-love.

The title coach is not a sexy one. I used to conjure an image of a masculine (man or woman) dressed in a track suit with a whistle around their neck. A drill sergeant who will push you and scream at you when needed and yes, of course, celebrate your victories and give you pointers to get better when you don’t perform your best. Today, a coach has an entirely different meaning since I have entered the world of holistic health and lifestyle coaching myself.
